Updated – A FREE fully-featured edition of Visual Studio!

361

Among yesterday’s great product launches by Microsoft, was the FREE unrestricted version of Visual Studio – Visual Studio Community Edition 2013. What I didn’t notice is that “this version lets developers target any platform from desktop and mobile to web and cloud”. Instead of waiting for Visual Studio 2015, we can start creating Android and iOS applications as from today!

Bye Bye Nokia Lumia

LUMIA-1020-TEMPLATE-BY-JASKNI - height

Yesterday, 11th November, Microsoft officially unveiled their first Microsoft Lumia – Microsoft Lumia 535 It has the same design like most other Lumia’s, the biggest difference of all is the name. Nokia Reading is a Battery Drainer

BookStairs_Icon

I love everything Nokia (now Microsoft). My current phone is a Lumia 1520, the previous one was an 820, and I had the Lumia 900 and 800. I also love their software. I use the Here Drive daily, the Nokia Camera App which is the best when taking photos, and Nokia Creative Studio to edit them.

Lately I’ve started reading ebooks, currently reading Ultimatum by Simon Kernick, and used the Nokia Reading app to read them. I downloaded my ebooks from OneDrive directly from the app. It’s easy to use and I can pin my books to the Start Screen. Everything was well and good, until I started noticing that the battery was draining quickly. Continue reading

Thanks for asking Cortana 🙂 and thanks for making my Windows Phone better. Yesterday Microsoft released Windows Phone 8.1 to all Windows Phone developers. To download you have to have a Windows Phone Store account and the app Preview for Developers installed on your phone. One of the most awaited features of the 8.1 update was Cortana, Microsoft’s new personal assistant for Windows Phone. It takes her name from Cortana, the AI in Halo, and it can help you with all your daily needs, set reminders, check the weather and much more. Continue reading
